China
by Mary Wentworth, April 9, 1974
A lifelong activist in anti-war, feminist, and anti-racist movements, Wentworth is one who truly thinks globally and acts locally. In the People’s Republic of China with a chapter of the U.S.-China Peoples Friendship Association, she deftly photographed children at play, factory workers, and other city scenes. This seemingly mundane street scene, likely taken from a moving vehicle, results in an engaging, stratified composition.
