Safety first was the watchword back in the 1970s. When Ed Judice was hired to document the Rodney Hunt manufacturing plant in Orange, Mass., in 1974, the company was at peak production. A talented photographer then living in nearby Wendell, Judice was given ready access to the shop floor, where they made water control apparatus. Today, of course, safety-minded workers would request long sleeves and a hat.
