“Baltimore Colts NFL Champions 1968” on watch face with the Colts team logo; band is missing. Engravings on verso: “Lucien Piccard 18 K waterproof G.U.M. Certified Supreme 100235 Switzerland”. In the over fifty year history of the Super Bowl, only twice has a team decided to skip awarding a championship ring. Super Bowl III, played in January of 1969 was the first time this occurred, when the team decided to have watches made instead of rings as NFL Champions. This watch was presented to the players and staff from Colts owner Carroll Rosenbloom.
