Description

Bronze medal (sometimes known as a commemorative coin) with image and name of Bert Bell on one side. Reverse side inscribed: "Bert Bell, NFL Commissioner. Made many major contributions to pro football. In 1935 conceived the player draft. Commissioner NFL 1946-59. Set up TV, anti-gambling controls. Founded Philadelphia Eagles 1933." The medal was part of series released by the Franklin Mint from 1972-1974 honoring Pro Football Hall of Fame's first 50 players to be enshrined.
